Parish members have founded and continue to lead organizations
intended for community benefit. Two of them are...
Waltham Day Care Center, and the Waltham
Clothing Exchange.

Welcoming Congregation is a group working to create greater awareness, sensitivity, and acceptance for gay, lesbian, and bisexual persons
in our society.
This Community has taken and is taking steps to assist our members in understanding and affirming gay and lesbian and bisexual people...and declares itself to be a Welcoming Congregation. Annual Meeting, June 7, 1997

We also support through donation and individual leadership,
community-based groups and activities:
Waltham Battered Womens Shelter, WATCH Community Development Corp.,
Waltham's Farmer's Market, Concerts on the Common, Salvation Army
Food Pantry, Historic Waltham days, Interfaith Counseling Services,
Power Program for Downtown Learning, Protestant Chaplaincy Council,
Interfaith AIDS Ministry and the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee.
WALTHAM CLOTHING EXCHANGE.
The Clothing Exchange takes place in the church basement on Tuesdays from 10 am to 5 pm during the church year.
Clothing and household items are accepted on consignment or as donations, and re-sold at very reasonable prices.
For schedule and consignment information see Waltham Clothing Exchange.
The Exchange was formed on September 26, 1957, by a small group of women under the leadership of Mrs. Margaret Manual. It was patterned after the Wayland
Exchange because Margaret knew how that one operated. It thrived under the direction of Mrs. Manual and Mrs. Eleanor Clark. Many of the original workers are still serving among the 25 to 30 people who operate it today.
Each year the Exchange is able to donate money to the church in addition to serving the community by providing good, clean, secondhand clothing and
household items at reasonable prices.
WALTHAM DAY CARE CENTER
Waltham Day Care Center is a non-profit, licensed center providing quality care to children from 15 months to 6 years. Some sliding scales are offered. We do not discriminate on the basis of creed,
race, gender, national origin, marital staus or physical disability.
